It offers pitch sessions, a multi-author book signing, over 50 workshops (including Lisa Cron’s “Wired For Story” and Robin Blakely’s STORYography Cards), and keynote speeches by NYT Best selling authors Robyn Carr and Sarah MacLean. There is an optional Friday Book Camp on Goal, Motivation, and Conflict, and the Hero’s Journey by the woman who literally wrote the book on Goal, Motivation and Conflict–Debra Dixon.
Castle Rock Writers' Conference
Location: USA, CO. A panel or a guest speaker presents a topic of interest to all writers on Friday evening. This year the Conference Kick-off will be on Zoom, to accommodate our members who live in other areas. On Saturday, the conference offers tracks designed specifically for fiction writers, nonfiction writers, children’s & middle grade, and poets. Each track offers three workshops. The Conference Team asks the registrants to select one of the four tracks, so that writers can focus on their main form of writing.

The Frost Place Conference on Poetry

Offering workshops in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and playwriting, the Conference invites talented writers to come to Sewanee each summer to learn from each other in a welcoming and supportive environment. We’re grateful to Tennessee Williams, whose generous gift of the Walter E. Dakin Memorial Fund allows us to give every Conference participant assistance that covers two-thirds of the actual costs to attend. Additional funding is awarded to fellows and scholars.
